It’s tempting to move straight into the New Year and next project but taking the time out to run a Post-Peak Review can be a game-changer!

Building a process in to learn from past performance will set up for even greater success in the next cycle.

From this you can potentially:

🚀 Unlock Growth Opportunities

A review helps you identify what worked, what didn’t, and what can be optimised. These insights are gold for planning your next peak period.

💰 Maximise ROI

Understanding which campaigns, products, and strategies delivered the best returns ensures you're investing in the right areas moving forward.

💡 Build Resilience

By analysing challenges—whether it’s stockouts, shipping delays, or unexpected customer behaviours—you’re better prepared to mitigate risks in the future.

What to include and how to run a post peak review:

✅ Sales Performance:

Dive into the numbers—sales, traffic, and conversion rates. Identify top-performing products, campaigns, and customer segments. Where demand exceed or fall short of expectations and targets.

The goal? Understand what drove success and where opportunities were missed.

✅ Marketing Effectiveness:

Assess the effectiveness of my marketing efforts. Ask yourself the following questions:

Which campaigns and channels delivered the most ROI?

Did my timing and messaging resonate with my audience? Look at email open and click data, engagement with landing pages.

Where could I have scaled better or optimised spending?

✅ Operational Insights:

Peak periods can expose cracks in operations. Examine:

Stock levels: Did you run out of key items or overstock on others? Could the pricing / marketing have impacted this?

Fulfilment and delivery: Were you able to meet customer expectations?

Internal processes: Were there any bottlenecks that slowed operations down?

✅ Customer Feedback:

Customer feedback is non-negotiable Dig into reviews, returns, and support tickets. What are your customers telling you?

Reviews and survey responses: What did people love or dislike?

Support tickets: Were there recurring complaints or trends?

Returns and refunds: What drove them, and how can I reduce them?

✅ Competitor Landscape:

Did competitors gain an edge, and if so, how? Keep tabs on what’s happening in your industry

Did they launch any standout campaigns or products?

What can I learn from their pricing or positioning?

Running a post-peak review isn’t just about looking back—it’s about levelling up.

Each review will turn into a roadmap for growth.

If you’re not already doing this, now’s the time to start. Your next peak season (or business milestone) will thank you.

And if you’ve got tips or strategies to add, drop them in the comments—I’d love to hear how you approach it!
